Another early start for Team Proton which began with an interesting lecture on Tactical Activity Planning - 'TAPping'. Professor Derek Long gave a captivating introduction on the topic of Mars Rovers and their complex control systems.
Afterwards we then proceeded to Livingston Tower where we used a computer programme to plan our own training mission on a different planet.
We attended a lecture from guest speaker Professor Iain Hunter the Dean, Faculty of Science. He delievered an intriguing speech on how micro biology has evolved over time and how bacteria can change under different conditions such as zero gravity in space.
Heart of the Matter was a challenging experiment where we attempted to construct a heart monitor that astronaughts use in space. This proved very difficult as we had to assemble the circuit from scratch but it was also very enjoyable to test our own heart rates.
Before dinner we built upon the foundations of our 'Big Project' which is steadily improving and almost ready for the presentation on Thursday.
Kevin 'Roboprof' Warwick's lecture after dinner was "different" thatn what we had previously experienced. It was very informative in a comical way so was more memorable and inspiring.
The night all tailed off with an entarining pool night which was very competitive. Each member of Team Proton was randomly partenered with a member of Team Aries and we took part in a tournament against pairs from the other teams. Unfortunately neither Proton nor Aries reached the final of the event but overall was a very exciting and worthwhile day.
