Scottish Space School's 10th Anniversary

On 27th January 2010,  veteran NASA astronaut Bonnie Dunbar visited two schools in Glasgow and addressed 400 high school pupils in the City Chambers, and the Scottish School was born.  Happy 10th Anniversary!

Burns in Space

A thumb-sized book of poetry presented to the Space School students by First Minister Alex Salmond MSP at Holyrood on Thursday 5th November was passed on to British born astronaut Nicholas Patrick who is going to take it into space with him on shuttle mission STS 130 which is scheduled for launch on 4th February 2010.........(more).

Space School 2009

Space School 2009 began with 300 applicants from over 100 high schools across Scotland, with 120 being offered places at the 5-day residential summer school from 14-19th June, hosted by the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde and supported by NASA astonauts and engineers.  40 students were then invited to attend a workshop at Strathclyde in August and from that 10 were selected for the Learning Journey to Houston from 6-15th November.   ...
