As an aviation and space enthusiast, I applied for Space School as soon as I heard about it and was overjoyed when I found out I was going to the week at Strathclyde. Having avidly read the 2010 blogs I knew the week would be amazing but I honestly had no idea just how amazing it really would be. From the first tentative introductions to the final reluctant farewells, the whole week was the definition of inspiration and was genuinely the best week of my life so far. None of us wanted it to end, so finding out I’m among the Houston 10 is a huge honour and such an incredible feeling to have. The moment I found out, I couldn’t stop shaking with excitement and immediately yelled down the phone to everyone I knew! The Scottish Space School, coupled with learning to fly, has given me the confidence to follow my career aspirations and has proved to me that I want to be an engineer, working on research and development of jet engines.
